There are three radio rooms at the Centre. These are named Kemp, Paget, and Franklin after Marconi’s assistants.

The Kemp and Paget rooms are viewable by the public, while the Franklin room is accessible by members only.

The Kemp room is the principal HF room and is equipped with the beam rotator, a Kenwood TS2000, Linearamp UK Ranger 811H and Palstar 40A power supply.

The Paget room is equipped with an ICOM 7400 transceiver, Linearamp UK Ranger 811H and a Wilson power supply.

The Franklin room contains a Kenwood TS480SAT, Kenwood 2m multimode and facilities for digital modes.

The GB3SSS beacon consists of a Pye 25W driver driving a TE Systems 200W amplifier.

The ‘aerial farm’ consists of the following:-
1). A pair of 60foot tilt over masts supporting a multi-band doublet remote tuned by an SG239 automatic antenna tuner. These also support two W3DZZ multi-band dipoles.
2). A Hy-Gain EXP-14 tribander and rotator on a 60foot tower.
3). A 40foot tower carrying a 5/8 + 5/8 vertical for 2m and a 5element 6m beam.
4. An 8 over 8 slot-fed 2m antenna on a 40 foot tower radiates the GB3SSS beacon.
